Launch has rolled out its June 2026 Heavy-Duty diagnostic software update for the X431 platform, and it is one of the most substantial quarterly releases for commercial vehicle diagnostics this year. Eight brands received new features, bug fixes, and expanded system coverage — spanning construction equipment, trucks, buses, and even electric commercial vehicles. For independent repair shops that service mixed fleets, this update closes several critical diagnostic gaps that previously required dealer-level tools.
The update applies to all X431 devices with 8-inch or larger screens that support truck diagnostics, including the Launch X431 PRO series and X431 PAD series. Let's break down what's new and why each piece matters on the shop floor.
Caterpillar V12.60: Coolant Air Purge and Torque Calibration Arrive
The CATERPILLAR module (HD_CATERPILLAR) received two genuinely useful new functions in V12.60. First, Coolant Lines Air Purge Test — a procedure that every technician who has replaced a water pump or radiator on a Cat engine will appreciate. Instead of running the engine and hoping trapped air works itself out (while watching the temperature gauge nervously), the X431 now walks you through an automated purge cycle. This reduces the risk of hot spots and head gasket damage after cooling system service.
Second, Engine Torque Calibration has been added. After injector replacement, ECM reprogramming, or major engine work, torque output often drifts from factory spec. Being able to recalibrate torque values directly through the diagnostic interface — without switching to a separate service tool — saves both time and the cost of a dealer visit. IVECO and PERKINS Expand Aftertreatment Diagnostics

WABCO iEBS V12.05: Actuation Tests Come to the Aftermarket

KOBELCO Construction and FOTON EV: The Coverage Net Widens
Two additions in this update signal Launch's commitment to covering segments beyond traditional diesel trucks.
KOBELCO (V10.44) received the largest expansion in this release. The CK1000 series now includes the 6UZ1 (CAN) engine system and AdBlue/DEF system — critical for diagnosing SCR-related fault codes on large excavators. The SK200LC series gained DCU (Dosing Control Unit) system access, and several wheeled excavator and material handler series (E100W, E200, E200B, E200W, E300, E300B, W, WE) received engine system diagnostics for the first time. On the electric vehicle front, FOTON EV Heavy-Duty (EV_HD_FOTON V10.40) added 34 new systems and optimized two existing ones. Foton is one of China's largest commercial EV manufacturers, producing electric trucks, buses, and logistics vehicles that are increasingly exported to Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Latin America.
