AutoTuner USA has launched the AutoTuner One, an OBD-II dongle that lets independent tuning shops deliver ECU and TCU calibrations to customers anywhere in the world. Instead of shipping an ECU or booking a bay visit, a customer plugs the device into the OBD-II port, follows the prompts in the MyFlasher app, and installs the tune at home. It is a direct answer to one of the oldest friction points in the tuning business: the customer who wants a custom calibration but lives nowhere near the tuner.

What the AutoTuner One Actually Covers
The AutoTuner One is a single-vehicle, OBD-II flash tool built around one idea: the tuner writes the calibration, and the customer installs it. According to AutoTuner USA, the One supports more than 4,700 vehicles today, with coverage drawn from the larger AutoTuner Tool library of roughly 18,500 OBD-compatible vehicles. For shops that also need bench or boot-mode access, the full AutoTuner Tool spans more than 24,000 vehicles across OBD, Bench, and Boot methods.
Each One is tied to one vehicle but has no cap on the number of calibration files it can carry. The connected workflow pulls messaging, calibration files, datalogs, and diagnostic trouble-code (DTC) scans into a single channel — the customer follows prompts in MyFlasher, while the tuner manages every customer and file through AutoTuner Cloud. The hardware ships without AutoTuner branding, so a shop can apply its own identity, either with an included sticker or an in-house UV-printed logo.
One detail matters to independent shops: the AutoTuner One reads and writes a binary file format, which means tuners can keep using the calibration suite they already own instead of being pushed into a closed ecosystem. AutoTuner products carry no recurring subscription fees and no per-flash credits, and ongoing software and coverage updates are included.
Compared with a traditional J2534 pass-thru setup, where a shop flashes a vehicle it can physically touch, the One moves that same read/write step into the customer's driveway. The trade-off is real: OBD-only flashing has limits on locked or virtualized controllers, which is why AutoTuner also leans on Bench and Boot methods through the larger Tool platform for the units that will not open up over the DLC.

The company also provides domestic mail-in ECU unlocking for controllers that require an unlock before tuning — a common requirement on modern Bosch and Continental units.
For a shop weighing the move into remote tuning, the checklist is short: confirm your calibration toolchain exports a compatible binary format, verify coverage for the vehicles you serve most often, and decide how you want to brand the device you send to customers. The hardware is a delivery vehicle; the calibration remains your product.
