Xhorse's official blog has just documented a complete all-keys-lost job on a 2024 Opel Corsa F, programmed end to end with the Xhorse Key Tool MIDI. The walkthrough matters for one reason most locksmiths miss on the first pass: this Opel hides a PSA Group immobilizer under its badge, and both the PIN read and the key learning run through the Peugeot menu — not Opel's.
For mobile locksmiths, the Corsa F is a high-volume job that keeps coming back. Built on Stellantis's Common Modular Platform (CMP) alongside the Peugeot 208, 2008, and DS 3 Crossback, it shares their immobilizer architecture. Learn one workflow and you unlock several badge-engineered cousins at once.
Why the Corsa F Feels Like a Peugeot to Your Programmer
The Corsa F (2019 onward) is a badge-engineered Peugeot 208 under the skin. Opel, now part of Stellantis, builds the car on the CMP platform and reuses PSA immobilizer logic throughout. In practice, that means the 4-digit PIN is not read through an Opel menu path — Xhorse's guide routes you through IMMO Programming → Peugeot → Password Reading instead.
This is the single most important point in the whole walkthrough. A locksmith who scrolls only the Opel submenu may conclude the tool simply cannot read the PIN, when the correct path is one level over in the Peugeot section. The same PSA logic applies to the remote synchronization routine, which follows Peugeot timing conventions rather than the older Opel patterns many technicians remember from the Corsa D and E.
What You'll Need
The job is deliberately lean. Xhorse lists only a handful of items, most of which a working locksmith already carries on the van.
- Xhorse Key Tool MIDI — the programmer used in the official walkthrough. Browse the full Xhorse tool collection for this and related devices.
- Lishi auto pick — to decode the driver's door lock and derive the PIN. A proper lock-picking and locksmith kit covers this step.
- Two compatible flip keys — the guide programs two keys in one session. Stock up on car remote keys and blank blades before you arrive.
- Battery support — the PIN read and key learning involve repeated ignition cycling, so a charger is cheap insurance against a low-voltage failure.
Step-by-Step: All Keys Lost on a Corsa F
Step 1: Read the 4-Digit PIN Code
Decode the door lock with a Lishi auto pick to obtain the key bitting, then derive the PIN. Inside the Key Tool MIDI, navigate to IMMO Programming → Peugeot → Password Reading → Type 3 CAN (Adding), and select Read Password.
With the ignition off, wait five seconds, then switch it on again. Repeat the off/wait/on cycle until the tool returns the 4-digit password. The guide notes this cycling is normal for the PSA CAN immobilizer — the read is not instantaneous, so patience here prevents a false "no PIN" verdict.
Step 2: Program All Keys Lost
Open IMMO Programming → Opel → Corsa → Corsa F → Flip Keys → 2019 Onwards → All Keys Lost. The menu warns that running this erases every existing key from the vehicle — confirm the owner is present and the replacement keys are cut before continuing.
Enter the PIN, then set the number of keys to be programmed (the guide uses two). Insert the first key and switch the ignition on within 15 seconds; when the tool confirms success, switch off and remove it. Repeat for the second key within its own 15-second window. Both keys must be learned in the same session once the function is started.
Step 3: Synchronize the Remotes and Test
Remote buttons need a separate sync after key learning. Insert a key, switch the ignition on, press any remote button within 20 seconds and hold it for 10 seconds, then switch off and remove. Repeat for the second remote. Finally, test both keys for locking, unlocking, and engine start before leaving the vehicle.
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Skipping the Peugeot menu. The PIN read lives under Peugeot, not Opel — the most frequent point where the job stalls.
- Rushing the PIN read. Missing the five-second ignition cycle will time out the password routine and look like a tool failure.
- Starting with uncut blades. All Keys Lost wipes the existing key list, so have both flip keys cut and ready before you erase anything.
- Ignoring remote sync. Key learning alone starts the car but leaves the buttons dead; the 20-second hold is a separate, easily missed step.
Pro Tips from the Shop Floor
Because the Corsa F shares its immobilizer with the Peugeot 208, 2008, and DS 3 Crossback, treat this workflow as reusable across the entire CMP family. If you program PSA keys regularly, a dedicated key programmer with a deep Peugeot/Citroën menu will repay itself within a handful of jobs.
Keep a selection of pre-cut flip blanks and a small stock of transponder key chips on the van so a single visit covers the common Corsa and 208 call-outs. And when the owner asks why an "Opel" needs a Peugeot routine, the platform-sharing answer is the same reason the parts bin under the bonnet looks so familiar.
