Adding a BMW BDC3 encrypted key can seem like a daunting task, especially for those unfamiliar with automotive electronic systems. However, with the right tools, such as the Yanhua ACDP2, this task becomes manageable. What You’ll Need
- Mini ACDP / ACDP2
- Module 38 (license activated)
- Yanhua BDC2/BDC3 Encrypted Key Adapter
- Original key + blank replacement key
- Minimum Software Versions:
- ACDP PC: 1.0.64+
- ACDP2 PC: 2.0.8+
- Android: 3.0.141+
- iOS: 3.6.4+
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Open & Mount the Key
To begin, open the BDC3 key housing carefully.
Set the interface board latch to UNLOCK.
Align the pins with the key's PCB and press down firmly to ensure a good connection.
Lock the latch back to LOCK position.
Step 2: Connect Hardware
Now, link the Yanhua ACDP2 with the interface board that has the key and the adapter.
Make sure to switch the DIP to BDC3.
Step 3: Navigate Software
Open the ACDP app on your device.
Follow this path within the app:
- BMW > FEM/BDC > IMMO/Mileage > BDC02/03/BCP/LCD key (encrypted) ICP Copy Key
- Select BDC03-key (square/encrypted).
Step 4: Read & Backup Original Key Data
Read the original key's data carefully.
Confirm the VIN and other important details for accuracy.
Backup the .bin file and make sure to note the file path and timestamp for future reference.
Step 5: Write to New Key
Select the option to Write BDC03 key (encrypted).
Remove the original key and insert the new blank key into the device.
Important: Never reconnect the original key during the writing process; this could risk permanent disablement.
Confirm the new key information and back it up as well.
Step 6: Finalize the Process
Upload the original .bin backup once again.
Verify that the data matches correctly.
Write to the new key and wait for confirmation of success.
